VINFAST AND LUKA KOPER ENTERING INTO A STRATEGIC LOGISTICS PARTNERSHIP

Koper, Slovenia - Ha Noi, Vietnam, November 14, 2023, VinFast and Luka Koper signed an agreement towards the establishment of Roll on-Roll off terminal services for VinFast electric vehicles on November 09, 2023 at Luka Koper’s Headquarter, Koper, Slovenia. The partnership will set the solid path forward for VinFast’s sustainable development strategy into the Southern European region.

Under the agreement, Luka Koper commits to providing stevedore and other terminal services related to VinFast’s electric vehicles and goods. This arrangement plays the role of a crucial gateway for VinFast’s smart, safe and eco-friendly electric vehicles to journey across the European countries.

Koper has great advantages for the Asian markets as it is the first landing point for cargo ships from Southeast Asia to Europe via the Suez Canal. The partnership with Luka Koper will enable VinFast to take advantage one of the shortest routes from Vietnam to Europe, thereby optimizing transportation time and costs 

With reliable port services and an extensive network of maritime and rail connections services Luka Koper is the strategic partner for VinFast's logistics solutions to Southern European region. With the additional railway track, which should be completed in 2026, Luka Koper plans to double the railway throughput capacity.

About Luka Koper

Luka Koper is a company which develops and manages the Port of Koper, the only Slovenian seaport that is that is also part of EU TEN-T network on so called Mediterranean and Baltic Adriatic corridor. The company operates all 12 specialized terminals in the multipurpose port, handling all types of cargo: containers, cars and Ro-Ro, various general cargo products, project cargo, dry bulk, liquid bulk and passengers. The total throughput of the port in 2022 was 23,2 million tons, including more than 1 million TEUs and 800.000 units of new car, making Koper the largest container terminal in Adriatic and one of the most important car terminals in Europe. 

The Port of Koper has a strategic geographic position in the North Adriatic region and therefore important opportunities for servicing its Central European markets.
